Piotr Kowal

Pianist, chamber musician, pedagogue. He graduated from the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow in the piano class of Prof. Andrzej Pikul (diploma with distinction). In 2018, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Arts; his dissertation was on the interpretation of the works of Ludwig van Beethoven and included a recording of the sonatas Op. 81a, Op. 106 Hammerklavier and Op. 111.

He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Poland and in Austria, Denmark, Spain, Israel, the United States, Germany, Slovakia and Italy. He has performed at international festivals such as: “Wawel at Twilight” (2017), “August of Talents” in Katowice (2014), the Royal City of Cracow Piano Festival (2013), the Polish Music Festival in Iwonicz-Zdrój (2012, 2013), the Liszt Festival in Cracow (2011), as well as at the Wroclaw Philharmonic, the Cracow Philharmonic, the Czestochowa Philharmonic and the Frederic Chopin Museum in Warsaw. He also collaborated with the Czestochowa Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and the Riszon le-Cijjon Symphony Orchestra, performing Franz Liszt’s Concerto in E-flat Major.
